Synopsis

In rain-slicked nocturnal Los Angeles, aimless courier Jax Reyes begins receiving impossible addresses that lead him to the recently deceased. Each drop-off peels back layers of a city-wide conspiracy where the living ignore the dead until the dead start delivering back. When Jax opens the final package meant for a murdered whistleblower, he becomes the hunted vessel carrying the evidence that could expose a corporate cover-up. As shadows lengthen and spectral riders pursue him across freeways and alleys, Jax must outrun both cops and ghosts while piecing together the truth of his own forgotten death. His only allies are a skeptical dispatcher and the victim's furious daughter who demands he finish what she started. The race climaxes at the abandoned port terminal where the original crime occurred; Jax faces a choice between vanishing forever or delivering justice that might finally let him rest.

The story

Act I

Jax picks up the cursed package during a routine shift and begins noticing the addresses lead only to corpses. He witnesses his first haunting when a recipient opens the door already dead.

Act II

Spectral assassins and crooked executives close in as Jax deciphers the package's data; allies die, his grip on reality frays, and he learns he died the night the whistleblower vanished.

Act III

At the port terminal Jax confronts the ghost of the victim, delivers the evidence to the living world, and chooses to vanish so the truth can survive, freeing both the dead and the city.

INT. RAIN-SOAKED ALLEY - NIGHT

JAX REYES, 30s, hoodie soaked, leans against his dented van. Headlights cut through mist. He checks a glowing tablet: 3:17 AM, 1427 Harbor Way.

JAX
( muttering )
Nobody lives at 1427. Place burned down last month.

He grabs a slim black package, no sender. Walks to the charred doorway. A FIGURE stands inside, backlit, motionless. Jax knocks. The figure turns—face half-melted, eyes black.

FIGURE
You’re late.

The package vibrates violently. Jax drops it. Static screams from his radio. He bolts as the van engine starts by itself.

EXT. FREEWAY ON-RAMP - CONTINUOUS

Jax speeds away. In the rearview, the burned building flickers with impossible light. A second set of headlights—riderless—gains on him.
