Synopsis

As the creatures breach walls and mimic loved ones' voices, Emma uncovers they feed on unresolved grief, drawn by her refusal to confront the past. Allies prove false, supplies dwindle, and time fractures into fevered flashbacks. The final stand forces her to choose between dying alone or burning the cabin and the ghosts inside it. By dawn the entities retreat only after she sacrifices everything, emerging scarred yet whole, proving salvation comes solely from within.
The story
